The bad part about Christmas

P75

It seems like you just get your tree up and then two months later you have to take it down. Don't judge me.

In case you missed the lyrics last night.

Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and old lang syne ?

CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

And surely you’ll buy your pint cup !
and surely I’ll buy mine !
And we'll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS

We two have run about theslopes,
and picked the daisiesfine ;
But we’ve wandered manya weary foot,
since auld lang syne.

CHORUS

We two have paddled in the stream,
from morning sun till dine ;
But seas between us broad have roared
since auld lang syne.

CHORUS

And there’s a hand my trusty friend !
And give us a hand o’ thine !
And we’ll take a right good-will draught,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS

With friends like mine...

There is no need to decide to sacrifice yourself, they pop you in the head with their paddle and shout "thanks for the sacrifice sucker. If you should by chance make it downstream we will try again tomorrow"

I have since been told there is a revisionist bent to my storytelling. I'm just not sure.
